The Blind Man

Listen

Read

One day Savior Jesus and his closest followers saw a blind man. And His closest followers asked Him: "Why is this man blind? Is it because his parents sinned? Or because he himself sinned?"

Jesus replied: "Neither. It’s not because either one of them sinned. It’s so that God can show His power in his life."

Then Jesus spit on the ground and made a small piece of mud and rubbed it in the eyes of the blind man. Then He said to the blind man, "Go to this certain pool and wash your eyes." So, the blind man went to the pool and washed off his eyes, and all of a sudden he could see.

And when he came back to town everyone couldn’t believe what happened and the religious leaders asked him, "How were your eyes healed?" He replied, "The man named Jesus healed me." But the religious leaders didn’t believe him because they hated Jesus.

So, the religious leaders brought his parents in and asked them if this was true or not. Now, the parents were very afraid of the religious leaders because they had said if anyone believes in Jesus, they would be kicked out of the synagogue (house of worship). So, the parents refused to back up their son’s story of how he was healed.

So, the religious leaders called the guy back in and said, "Tell us the truth. Who really healed your eyes?" He replied, "I told you, Jesus healed me. He has to be from God." Well, this infuriated the religious leaders. And they mocked him and kicked him out of the synagogue (house of worship).

Jesus heard about everything that happened, so He went and found the man. And He asked him, "Do you believe in the Savior of the world?" The man replied, "Who is He? I don’t know who He is, but I want to believe." Then Jesus said, "I am the Savior of the world." Then the man said, “Yes, I believe in You,” and he fell on his knees and began worshipping Jesus.
