Resurrection

After Savior Jesus died on the cross, some people buried His body in a tomb. Three days later, some women who believed in Jesus went to His tomb. When they arrived there, the tomb's entrance was open, and Jesus' body was no longer there. And they were shocked and confused. Suddenly, 2 angels appeared and said, "Jesus is not here. He has come back to life."

The women were so happy and ran back and told Jesus’ closest followers the news. But they thought the women were crazy and didn’t believe them.

That evening, as Jesus' closest followers were gathered together, Jesus suddenly appeared. And they were completely scared thinking it was a ghost or something. Jesus said to them, "Don't be afraid. Look, It's me." And when they saw that Jesus really had come back to life, they were so excited.

Then Jesus explained to them why He needed to die and come back to life. If someone wonders why Jesus had to die and come back to life, this is why:

Whoever has sinned, God must punish that person just like He did with the first man and woman.

But just as God had compassion on the first man and woman, He also has compassion on us and sent the Savior Jesus to die on a cross in our place in order to take the punishment we deserve and cleanse our sins.

Whoever turns away from their sin and believes in Savior Jesus alone, that person's sins are not only cleansed, but they will be like a brand-new person. This is the good news about Jesus.
