The Birth of Jesus

Read

After the first man and woman sinned, there became more and more people in the world, and there became more and more evil and suffering. Most people rejected God and did whatever they wanted (and even worshipped other gods).

God was not happy about this all, but He still had compassion on everyone. So, in order to save all people from their sins, He sent a Savior. And this how He did it.

2,000 years ago, there was a woman named Mary. Now Mary had never slept with anyone, but she was engaged to a certain man named Joseph. And they both loved God very much.

One day, an angel came to Mary and said, "You are going to give birth to a Son. And He is God's Son and will be very great.” And so, Mary became pregnant even though she had never slept with anyone.

When Joseph discovered that Mary was pregnant, he thought about breaking off the engagement. Then one evening, an angel appeared to Joseph in a dream. The angel said, “Don’t break up with Mary. God has put this child in Mary. And this child will save people from their sins." So, Joseph did not break up with Mary, and the two of them got married.

After this, the two of them went to the hometown of their ancestors. But, at that time, all the hotels were full, and they had no place to stay. So, they ended up staying in a barn. That evening, Mary gave birth to a Son, and His name was called Jesus. The name Jesus means, "God saves".

Now in the area, some shepherds were taking care of their sheep. Suddenly, many angels arrived in the sky, and the shepherds became scared. But one angel said, "Don't be afraid. I come with Good News. Today a Savior has been born nearby." So, the shepherds went and visited Savior Jesus, and they were so happy and were praising God.
